Conversations With Pita

Years ago, I had a cat named Leon. He was a lover and because of this, he was a fighter to protect his women. In one of his fights, he came in contact with a cat that had feline leukemia. So he contracted the disease.

Over the years, it progressed and I did what I could. But feline leukemia is terminal and I eventually had to put him down to keep him from suffering.

During the summer of 2007, Pita asked me if I had ever had a cat. I told her about Leon. About how he had gotten sick and had to go to heaven.

Fast forward to yesterday - I picked Pita up from preschool. During the ride home, we had this conversation.

Pita, "Aunt Woody, did you know that Bear had to go to heaven?"

Me, "Yes, I talked to your Daddy and he told me."

Pita, "I have a feeling....."

Me, "What do you have a feeling about, Pita?"

Pita, "I have a feeling that my dog will be chasing your cat in heaven."

And I'm sure she's right!

Cute. They can both chase our Guinea Pig...we had to put him down over Thanksgiving weekend. He lived a long life for a Guinea though...

I miss having a cat.

Your knock knock joke is the BEST one I heard! I wish I would have heard it before my post! It is THAT good! Even Gary and Kaish liked it. You are a winner!
