Just a thought....

Once upon a time, Vol Fan and I went to a football game. As we walked into the stadium, we were approached by a young man with a clipboard. If we filled out an application for a credit card, he would give us a free t-shirt.

Since I love free t-shirts, I filled out the form. I got my t-shirt. A couple of weeks later, the credit card arrived in the mail. With a $25,000.00 credit limit. The point of this story?

The card was in the name of my dog. With a made-up social security number. On the application, I had said that she was unemployed with 9 dependents. At the time, she was nursing her first litter of puppies.

Could this type of irresponsible lending be at the core of our current economic problems?

PS - No, I didn't use the card.

PSS - Yes, I canceled the card.

PSSS - She still gets mail. I wonder if they sold her name???

I think you've hit the button right on the nose! (Am I mixing metaphors?) You should send this story to your favorite politician, it is a great one!

Don't give your dog her card!! They're very irresposible with money, you know! ROFL!

That's really funny! And I wonder if what the guy did was actually legal? Aren't they supposed to do checks on whether the name/number is false or not?
