My (Incomplete) Life List

Several years ago, I started a life list - just a list of things that I would like to do. Some are silly. Some are not likely to ever happen but it is fun to dream. Do you have a list?
  1. Hike at Arches National Park (Um, yeah. This one was about to get marked off but damn, this ankle!)
  2. Spend New Year's Eve at Times Square (Anybody game?)
  3. Hike Wall Street at Bryce Canyon
  4. Drive the Going to the Sun road and hike the Highline Trail
  5. Visit Monument Valley
  6. Hike the Narrows at Zion
  7. Bora Bora! (This one and the next one are planned for our 25th anniversary. Check it out!)
  8. Sail on a tall ship
  9. See the Northern Lights
  10. Visit Death Valley and see the moving rocks
  11. Hear wolves howl while camping
  12. Visit Antelope Canyon
  13. See The Wave on the Arizona/Utah border (Check out these pics for Antelope Canyon and The Wave.)
  14. Hike the Grand Canyon and stay at Phantom Ranch
  15. Learn to snow ski (My first try didn't quite turn out as I had hoped! But that is another story!)
  16. Watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, maybe see the green flash
  17. Drive through a tree
  18. Touch a whale
  19. Spend the 4th of July with the Boston Pops
  20. Italy, Italy, Italy!
  21. See Mont St. Michel
  22. See a geyser and bubbling mud
  23. Try to surf
  24. See a grizzly bear (at a safe distance, of course)
  25. Swim at Havasu Falls
  26. Go on safari
  27. See the pyramids by camel
  28. Sit at a sidewalk cafe in France
  29. Stay in a castle and visit Neuschwanstein
  30. Drive the Alaska Highway
  31. Get all my national park stamps
  32. Get the hell out of Dodge
  33. Go white water rafting
  34. Hike to the top of Half Dome
  35. See Petra
  36. Try to hike to Angel's Landing
The problem with the list is that is keeps growing. It seems that the more I do, the more I want to do. Any suggestions for stumbling upon some cold, hard cash to finance these activities?

Your list is quite ambitious! Mine consists of things such as: make it through the week, month, year, etc.; don't forget to pick up wine on the way home; brush the dog....you get the idea.

I am definitely up for spending New Year's in Times Square. Now, if I can just convince The Surveyor!

I LOVE your list. It is so adventurous and I have not seen or done any of them yet. Well, the white water rafting we did do, but it was very mild, fun but mild.
I don't have a list per se', but in my mind I do and it looks just like BHE. Just the basics.
You have inspired me though. I am going to put making a list on my list of things to do!!!
Happy healing.

Big Hair - Vol Fan has absolutely no desire to do Times Square. Maybe we should have a blog convention there on New Year's?!?

Suz - I have a daily list too but it mostly consists of 'Dear God! You mean I have to cook. Again!' and 'But I just dusted last month!'......

Impressive list! I've done some of the stuff out west, but it would be a miracle if I ever had the opportunity to see the pyramids.

Grandma J - I can't even imagine how impressive the pyramids are live and up close!

I've only done like three of those things, and two of them involved the Pacific Ocean.

Maybe you could just sell everything you own and buy a little camper. You could live in the camper and use the money you made from selling everything to go on trips in your little, mobile home.

MJ - I'm thinking that sounds awesome!!

Neat list! I don't really do lists - I forget to bring the shopping list with me, so you can imagine that life lists would be forgotten too. I do, however, want to ride the Hogwarts Express before I die.

#20 on your list - The Colliseum, the Amalfi Coast, and a Tuscan harvest? I'm guessing on the 2nd two, but have done all of those and you should definitely go there. If you know the language, even better. I kept speaking a combo of Spanish and French and they would just start speaking English to me after that. It's a great place!

This is a terrific list. Reading it makes me want to go find you in person so we can do some of them together!
