The Perfect Fall

Sunday afternoon was gorgeous. Temperatures in the mid 70s. Cloudless sky. The perfect fall day.

What should I do? Go for a hike to my favorite waterfall? Go on a bike ride with Pita?

No. What should I do? Spend the afternoon in the emergency room, of course.

While trying to unpack, I fell down the attic stairs. My ankle immediately swelled to twice its normal size. Since Vol Fan was still on the road, my Dad came and drove me to the hospital.

Thankfully, it is not broken, just sprained. But that still means that I am on crutches!

The worst thing? I have been planning a hiking trip to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in Utah for several years. The timing of our work has never allowed us to take this trip. Until now! So as I was lying on the floor, writhing in pain - my first thought was NO HIKING TRIP NOW!!

Oh that is horrible news. Do you think you will be well enough by the time the trip rolls around?
seriously though, you are lucky it was not much worse..or your head even!!
Dont you know the attic is the "mans' Space".
It women were meant to be up there, it would be a lot prettier!

I agree with Suz - Stay. Away. From. The. Attic.

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery. Thank goodness Dad was around to take you to the ER!

Get well soon! I hope you're a quick healer. It would be great if you got to come out this way. I was just in Kentucky for a few days and loved the beautiful rolling hills and fall colors.

It would have been better had you just broken it! Seriously, that's what the DR. told us when Bailey sprang her ankle during ice-skating practice.

I so sorry that you wont be able to go on your trip now. Remember to RICE and take advantage of being served until you are well. :)
