The Most Wonderful Thing

I had the most wonderful thing happen yesterday.

The Boss Man and Prima Ballerina are purchasing a Newfoundland and drove to Missouri to pick up their new puppy. So I stayed with Pita and AB while they made the trip.

Pita woke up at 5am on Saturday morning after having a bad dream about monsters. So she curled up in bed with me and we both went back to sleep.

Around 7:30, we were both starting to stir. She came over and snuggled in the crook of my arm so I could rub her back and head.

As she laid there, she gave me a big hug, looked directly into my eyes and said, "You are the best aunt in the whole world. I love you."

Good Lord, I love that kid.

That is soooo sweet! It doesn't surprise me though with the great aunt that you are that your neices feel this way. They are so blessed to have you as their aunt, just as you are blessed to have them in your life. Such beautiful memories!

She's just returning all of the love you've showered on her over the years:) I'll bet you didn't want that moment to EVER end!

those memories are gifts that money can't buy....keep them in a safe place where you can recall them at will.

Your niece is so privileged to have you for her aunt....and its wonderful that she lets you know how much she loves you.

Awwwwww! Those moments literally make my heart jump out of my chest.

I was watching my neighbors' little 6 year old boy last week. We were reading bedtime stories and he had his head resting on my arm. Fisher jumped up and plopped down resting her head on my leg. I had to start making up words to the story, my eyes welled up with tears!

I thought they bought Newfoundland. It's a pretty big property to maintain...

Can't kids just give you the biggest love ever? The first time one of mine said "Mommy I wuv you" I was putty in their hands.

Ah! Thank you for sharing! The morning snow fall has brought a chill in the air, and in one fell swoop, you warmed me enough to not notice the cold. Thanks again!

awwww, that brought instant tears to my eyes. SO sweet. You must be the best, or else she would not have said that. Being an aunt is very important work you know...my aunt is one of my most favorite people still..she was always good to me as a kid.
Love that lil' angel.
