I have mentioned before that I can't dance. I'm not talking about feeling a little uncomfortable on the dance floor or having outdated moves.
I'm saying that I can NOT dance. There is not one rhythmic bone in my body. Like Elaine Benis times 10! Unless I have a few drinks and then I can move like there is no tomorrow!
Have you ever watched a crowd of people listening to music with a beat that makes you want to clap your hands? You know how there is always one person that claps a fraction of a second after everyone else. Well, that person is me!
I've often wondered why I am so bad at dancing. Were the stars not in the right arrangement at the time of my birth? Am I missing the rhythm gene? The coordination gene?
I finally got my answer.
Recently, I was looking at photographs. I came across some from 2004 - from a weekend spent in Mississippi with my aunts. My sister, The Manager, had recently eloped to Las Vegas and they threw a shower for her.
Anyway, my sister-in-law, Prima Ballerina (as you can tell from her name) is a dancer. She owns a dance studio and teaches dance.
During this weekend, someone (I don't remember who!) convinced Prima Ballerina to "teach us some moves".
In these photos, Prima Ballerina is the cute, skinny one in the black top. Tell me if you see anyone doing what she is doing.
My lack of dancing skill is NOT. MY. FAULT.
PS - After all the dancin' fun, we made a run for Tunica for a little drinkin' and gamblin' fun. Apparently, there were some in our group that wanted some other kinds of fun too, because somebody got knocked up in Tunica. I'm not saying who but Pita arrived 9 months later! Prima Ballerina has yet to return to Tunica.....

There are going to be serious repercussions for those photos! LOL!
I love digging out the photos of days gone by! Looks like sweet memories and everyone is ready for American Bandstand!
Well, in your defense, it looks like that is a family-wide issue;) Stick to the gambling--that's what I'd do, too.
Sounds like we got the same dancing gene! Those pictures are priceless!
So funny : ). I can't dance either. Elaine times 30 am I! Totally understand the clapping thing too!
That's so funny! I'm a WAY AWESOME dancer when I drink too!
I also happen to get WAY funny.
Doesn't everyone dance better after a couple drinks? I love to dance even though I am really bad. The Salesman and I tried dancing lessons once... he was good, I was not, so once is all it took.
Happy Friday!
I don't have a right to critique anyone else's dancing...ever! Those photos are funny!
I can bust a serious move if there is enough alcohol involved without it though FORGET IT..LOL
What great photos, Woody... Someone in your family is going to 'get you back'!!!!!! It does look like a family trait for sure!!!!! Don't we love it when we get all of the BAD family traits and not the good ones!!!!?????
I'm surprised that Pita is not names Tunica... Ha Ha Ha...
Have a wonderful weekend. What's on your agenda???
Hugs,
Betsy
Those pictures are priceless. I love it...you really made my day with that post.
Maybe Pita dances????
Were they doing the Hokey Pokie...shaking that right hand all about?
I chair dance really well, if that makes you feel any better?
OHHH MAN!!!!!
Thats funny!!!!
I once had a guy(back in the day) try to tell me how to dance and i was all like "Dude just shut up and buy me another drink......it gets better!!!"
I belong to the chair dancing club also. I can move pretty well from the shoulders up which means I have to raise my arms over my head, sway back and forth while I snap my fingers. It's not easy and does require a few beers.
those pics are HILARIOUS!! I, too, can only dance when Im drunk. (And Im nearly 100 percent sure that I cant dance then either, I just think I can)
No matter how bad you think you are, I guarantee I'm worse...
