As we headed back to Las Vegas, we veered off of the interstate and traveled on Route 66. We took the section from Seligman to Kingman, Arizona. We passed through Peach Springs which was the inspiration for the fictional town of Radiator Springs from the movie, Cars. (PS - I love cartoon movies!!)
Empty. Flat. Straight. The type of road that screams for a Ferrari running wide open!! I loved it.Then back across the Hoover Dam.Then we were back in Vegas, headed to Mandalay Bay for the night!
The day had cooled off nicely. We found ourselves seated at the sidewalk bar in front of Paris, watching the Bellagio fountains while enjoying a drink. Or fourteen.
And let me tell you - the fountain choreography for Viva Las Vegas is the best one! Isn't that as it should be?And that's when things got ugly. Like ran out of the nice Italian restaurant because I thought I was going to be sick ugly. Like passed out by 8:30 ugly.So Vol Fan found himself a seat at the poker table and played all night long. No major winnings. But no major losing either!
I did revive long enough to lose a $100 or so in the casino and take this picture of the view from our suite. It was a LONG plane ride home. But boy, did we have a wonderful time!!

I'm so jealous! Very familiar sights to me too. No stop over in Laughlin?
We missed you at Blogfest, can't wait for next year.
Oh man ... SSG feels a trip to Vegas might be in order soon ...
Oh no! How sad for you to be sick in Vegas! Wasn't Vol Fan sick a while ago? Did you catch it from him?
Lovely pictures! Vegas is so photogenic!
You poor thing...the last time we went to vegas I also woke up the last day sick and had to fly home with my eyes ON the bathroom door..ready to bolt in!
Love your pictures.
Oh My, Woody... It's so hard to be sick on vacation. I'm glad it didn't happen until you were almost ready to go home. I was sick the entire time when we were at Tybee Island last October. All I wanted to do was to be HOME in my own bed.
Your pictures are phenomenal---all of them... I love that one of the two of you together.
Thanks for taking us with you on your fabulous trip.
Hugs,
Betsy
You are quiet the traveler Woody!
I so want to go there. Maybe one day.
I love that evening view...and the one of you two in front of the fountain.
What an amazing trip this was...I am really getting addicted to the adventures!
Fun, fun, fun. Except for the sick part. I hate being sick away from home.
Love Vegas! I can't wait to go back.
I hate being sick ever, but away from home is the worst. I hope you're better!
So you're coming to blogfest next year?
