I would like to introduce you to someone. This is Joe and his wife, Ana. Joe is my cousin through a very tangled section of family tree. But he is my cousin none-the-less.
Joe served in the Army in Iraq. On July 5, 2005, his humvee was hit by a roadside bomb. Last Sunday on July 5, 2009, he celebrated the 4th anniversary of his Alive Day, called that because he truly should not be alive.
But Joe is a fighter. Not only did he survive but he has shown what a total bad ass he is. In spite of his injuries, he is flourishing. This is a pic of Joe in May.
Joe has shown me what the true meaning of tough is.
