If you want to try something fun, I have an idea for you. It is a several step process. So follow closely if you are up for a real good time.
Step 1: Live in a house for 13 years.
Step 2: Do something to end up on crutches.
Step 3: Purchase a new home.
Step 4: Tell everyone that packing really won't be that big a deal since you have been working at becoming an 'un-hoarder'.
Step 5: Try packing while on said crutches.
Step 6: Realize that you really haven't made that much progress at becoming an 'un-hoarder'.
Step 7: Decide that you are just going to leave everything behind and start fresh. It's easier.

aww you poor thing! When is the move??
Awe Woody---You'll make it. Get all of your good friends and not-so-good friends and family members and you just sit--and point. Tell them where to put things --and let them do the packing for you.
I think sitting and pointing and giving orders would be tons of fun... How 'bout you?????
Good Lucky, my friend.
Hugs,
Betsy
I second Betsy's suggestion, but add a crown, a scepter, and a throne. :)
It's okay to admit that you need help.

Oh. My. Moving SUCKS. Small projects with frequent breaks!
Or just hire someone.
I say start fresh.
Good luck!!!!
Imagine the joy of the new homeowner when he/she discovers the bounty you've left behind. What a kind thing for you to do. I'm am completely jealous. Completely.
Poor thing! Moving is just the PITS!! The last time we moved, I SWORE it would be THE. LAST. So far, so good:)
Just sit back and let your royal subjects have at it. You told me you were bossing people around....keep up the good work!!
All kidding aside, I hope the move goes well, and that you settle quickly into your beautiful new home:)
Moving is the best medicine for unhoarding. Leave it behind, donate it or yard sale. Of course a yard sale on crutches would not be fun. Just keep thinking about that new house waiting for you.
Moving is the worst thing to do even if you're not on crutches. If I lived closer, I'd be there to help. Yeah, I'd hold your crutches for you while you packed. BWAAAAH.
Ok that last part wasn't funny. :))
Moving is the pits for sure. My next move will be to my grave.
Have a inside yard sale with all the stuff you dont want. Get some ching while someone else hauls it off. It's almost like starting fresh!
<><
Have an auction. ; )
Starting fresh sounds very liberating.
I hope you find lots of helpers!
It's time to call in reinforcements! I wish I were closer...I'd be there;)
Good luck! Hopefully you'll find a way to make it all work out!
call in the reinforcements.
put them to work!
get rid of what you haven't used and don't replace it. you'll have more space in your new space and it feels so much more energizing.
i've moved 8 times. ;-)
correction. i've moved 9 times. forgot about the BIG move when we left england and came to canada! we got rid of everything except 6 suitcases and 2 tea chests. very liberating.
good luck :-)
Boy, do I ever get what you're talking about... and I'm not even on crutches. After living 24 years in the same house, I've often thought about torching the whole place and just be done with it, LOL! However, we need the money from the sale of this house to buy a new one, so I admit that's a cuckoo idea.
Hang in there! If it gets really bad you can always call me *to the rescue* since we all know it's more fun to that kind of crap with a buddy...
You soooo need to put the call out! And when you do, you and Vol fan will have trailers and trucks lining up to help!
Oh, I hate moving, and I bet I'm a bigger hoarder than you are!
I'm so sorry you're on crutches, and sorrier that you have to try to get packed and move while in that condition. I hope you heal fast and that the move goes well!
Have a moving sale.
Then donate evrything that doesn't sale!!!!
Wow..................can I spell or what?????
I mean.......everything and sell....
Phew.........that hurt!!!!
Awww...Wish I lived closer and could help you out! That's going to be quite an undertaking.
I've tried "purging" and it seems when I do, I acumulate 10 times more. hope things work out...still wish I could help you!
