Virtual Travel

I have a very bad case of wanderlust.  Thankfully, Vol Fan’s work requires us to be on the road quite a bit.  But during the down times, I still long for the road.
When I can’t travel in real life, I do so virtually.  Here are a few of my favorite places to travel:
Yellowstone – One morning as I opened this webcam, there were a couple of people standing on the viewing platform.  They looked around furtively, looking like they were up to no good.  Soon I realized why.  The wind was blowing, causing the steam from the geyser to blow off to the side rather than go straight up.  One of the people moved close to the edge of the platform and bent over, sticking their ass out to the side.  The other took a picture – making it look, I’m certain, like the steam was blowing from their butt!  If I ever make it to Yellowstone and if the wind is blowing, I will definitely take the same picture:)
Times Square – Because one year (hopefully one year soon!), I will be at Times Square for New Years Eve.
Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West – Because I really enjoyed drinking at that bar:)
French Polynesia – Just look at it.  Does it really need an explanation as to why I watch?  Could it be any more beautiful?
Moab, Utah – If this ankle ever heals, I will be hiking here!
Grand Canyon – Usually to see the sunset:)
Chisos Basin in Big Bend National Park – Great memories of a camping trip here!
Paris – Doesn’t everyone want to be in love and in Paris?
Alaska – In season, bears catching salmon.  ‘Nuff said!
So where do you travel?

I love virtually traveling with you...and these are some awesome places!!

I love to travel virtually to The Blue Riidge Moutains, which is so sad because they are so close to me. I go to the Swiss Alps, Northern Italy, Greece, all of Utah, and of course...I walk outsidee my door and go to my very favorite place on earth...the bay.

Africa, The Seychelles, Fiji and New Zealand. But I'd be happy to come on your trips, too;)

Those are places I let my mind visit before I sleep at night. Lately, I've been missing Maine and I'm intrigued by some South American countries. Honestly, I don't understand people who don't have wanderlust. My FIL was born and has lived his entire life in Michigan. He has left the state just a handful of times and he has ample $$. I just don't get it.

I would be happy to just travel from work to my living room right not, but seeing as that isn't going to happen for another 6 hours..... I love all of the places you are going.... can I just tag along with you?

Oh what fabulous places you listed, Woody. As you know, George and I do travel quite a bit. BUT--we haven't done what we REALLY want to do: Go to the GRAND CANYON and go out west PERIOD. There are tons of great waterfalls out there. We need to take a LONG (several weeks) trip out west. That's my DREAM.
Hugs,
Betsy

Lately I've only been traveling to the Boston area to visit my good friend.

I'd love to go back to Yellowstone, I still need to go to the Grand Canyon and Moad is also on my list! And Paris!?! It's on my list too.

I would love to travel Europe on a rail pass with no particular plan...free and easy.

Those little huts over the water in Bora Bora really intrigue me too!

There are tons of places in the states that I haven't visited that I probably should mark off my list first.

Traveled to Costa Rica this April; would go back there in a heartbeat. The people are warm and friendly and the country is absolutely beautiful.

All of these places sound fabulous, but I really perked up Hog's Breath in Key West. That's one of my very favorite places. We honeymooned in Key West and have returned 6 or 7 times. I think we're going there for our 20-year anniversary.

I'd love to visit Tahiti, Alaska, and New Orleans.

The Outer Banks of North Carolina. Yeah, I'm adventurous like that;)

Actually, I'd like to plan a trip across the country to visit all of my Bloggy friends. Can't think of a better way to see the good old U.S. of A.!!!

I travel nearly everywhere that is safe. High on my list right now are Spain/Portugal/Morocco, Australia/New Zealand, Turkey, Cambodia and Bali. Nothing until next year though. I am doing a week long hiking and having fun excursion around Las Vegas (Red Rocks, Lake Mead) over Thanksgiving week.

Hahaha! I was clicking away, thinking 'why don't these American webcams work for me?' Alaska was black. The Grand Canyon was black. Yellowstone was black. Then I figured it out. I'm in England and it's the middle of the night there! ROFL!

It's raining in Paris and New York right now, so I'm safe from wishing I was there, but checking the link to the Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab made me wistful. We drove past that one on Highway 128 and I think next time we visit we'll book it. :)
