Last weekend, we determined that we have been doing this family Easter project each year for the last 21 years. Hopefully, we will do it for at least 21 more!
It starts with Mamaw baking a cake. Then Poppy cuts it into the correct shape. And then the fun begins. Frosting. And jellybeans. And chocolate chips. And licorice. And colored coconut flakes.
Everyone gets their fingers a little sticky. Mamaw always instructs everyone - “Don’t lick the knife.” Which always gets ignored.
This year, in honor of The University of Tennessee making it to the Elite 8, we colored the bunny’s ears and tie orange. Or maybe it was a food dye mishap….

I love traditions. I think we use the same mold to make Mickey and Minnie.
That is a wonderful tradition.
Knives are just begging to be licked!
How wonderful a tradition! Besides, I love that it's the same colors as U of Texas, LOL! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself.)
