Stress

Things have not been going well at work of late.  We had two jobs for this summer but both have been put off until next summer.  Now it is too late to find more work.  Summer jobs are already under contract, if not already started.  So, poof, no work for this summer.  That means that Vol Fan has been laid off.

Thankfully, he has another job lined up already.  But change is always unsettling.

Mainly I am concerned for The Boss Man and his family.  No summer jobs for him means no income.  He is a saver like our Dad so he has some room to coast.  And all would be well until the jobs start next summer but there is a wrench in the situation.

Last summer we did a job in Franklin, Tennessee.  And thru a series of events that is the biggest tangled web of troubles you could ever imagine, their financing is still on the skids.  Which means that they have not paid us for our work - like to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars.

That kind of non-payment has the whole apple cart on the verge of being spilled.  The company has been able to hang on thus far but I'm not sure how much longer we can take the strain.  So if that happens, I will lose my job too.  But more than that, The Boss Man will lose everything.

I am scared for him.

I am scared for me.

So that adds up to a whole lot of stress and stress sucks.

Oh my, IW. This sounds awful, and yet it sounds so like our country at this time. Call BO, he should be able to bail you out!

I know, that isn't even funny, and I'm sorry. There are so many people in that situation today. I'm grateful my hubs is still working, but it seems like diesel goes up and up, and the price for carrying the grain goes down and down. He told the dispatcher that he, the hubs, was going to have to start paying him to get any loads.

I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted on your situation.

I am sorry to hear you guys have been hit hard like this too.
It is an eeeeery feeling not knowing what is going to happen next.
It seems the more you have, the more you have to lose.
I hope it all works out..for all of you.

Oh Man! That so totally sucks! Do you have no recourse with the Tennessee clients? I mean, come on! You did your job & they need to pay up. So if they file bankruptcy or whatever it is they plan to do, will your company not get paid? I just don't understand how people can do this kind of thing to others & it seriously pisses me off.

Unfortunately, I guess all you can do now is sit & wait. Don't allow the stress to get to you, girl. Something will come about, I'm sure. Well, I'm praying for that anyway...

Oh no, Woody. I pray for you guys and hope things turn around for you and Von Fan, as well as the Boss Man and his family. I've been down that path and it's not a cake walk.

Just know that when one door closes, the Lord opens another. ((HUGS))

And 'they' say that the economy is getting better. RIGHT!!!! Awe Crap Woody---I'm so sorry. Life can be so horrible at times---but then, if we are PATIENT (HA HA) ---it WILL get better. More doors will open for you all.

I pray that things work out for you and yours...
