Ah, The Golden Hour

After an exciting day at Sequoia National Park, we decided to take it easy the next day and went to Santa Barbara for the Arts & Crafts Show.  If you are ever in the neighborhood, don't miss this.  On Sundays, local artists (All residents of Santa Barbara county and they must make everything they sell) set up at the oceanfront park to sell their wares.  There is everything from windchimes to jewelry to pottery to paintings.  Beautiful stuff!  We shopped til we dropped!

After a great meal to recharge at Rusty's Pizza Parlor, Giggles was dying to rent a surry, a 4-man bicycle cart.  She had much more energy than the adults but we caved in to her sweet smile!
After an hour of riding, we were all tuckered out.  We took a quick cruise down Main Street and then headed back down the Pacific Coast Highway.  On this section of the road, it follows US 101 and traffic was a nightmare.  We veered off of the 101 onto local roads and stayed closer to the ocean.

As luck would have it, we ran across a place where there were TONS of surfers. (I later found out that the beach we happened upon was a famous break called Rincon.  No wonder there were so many surfers!)  So we stopped to watch the action.  And then, it happened.  The time of day that holds such wonderful light.  And with beautiful scencery to boot!
