The same crew as last year made the trek again. With the addition of R. L. Monkee. (For details of his adventure, click here!) Like a bunch of idiots, we chose to camp in 100+ degree heat rather than going to our nice air-conditioned homes each night. So this year, we were definitely smelling ripe by the end of the festival. Sometimes baby wipes just won't do the trick!
The most memorable thing about this year - it was HOT! Like the heat index was over 110 each day, pushing 120 on Saturday. Now that is HOT! Like melt your skin off of your face hot! Thankfully, I remembered my trusty umbrella. Even the smallest spot of shade makes a difference. It was so hot that I only took a handful of pictures!
The most enjoyable show - Imelda May! She was fantastic. I love a band with an upright bass. I enjoyed her set enough that I caught her second set later in the day. She also joined Jeff Beck (which was the next best show I caught!) onstage! Between the two of them, they absolutely made my Bonnaroo!
The least enjoyable thing - portajohns. And not just any portajohns. Portajohns that were being emptied/cleaned by a new company that had NO idea what they were doing and were in WAY over their heads. All that added up to portajohns that I would not even enter!! Trust me, you do not want a description!!!!! Thankfully, I had invested in a potty for the campsite. So if we were desperate, we went to camp.

Had I still been on the EC...I would have sooooooo been a Bonarooie this year...very jealous!
I was wondering about Bonnaroo this year --since it had been unbearably hot... Glad you enjoyed it though... I'm so OLD that I don't recognize many of the acts anymore.... Gosh Darn---this old woman is just getting too darn old and out of touch..
Thanks for sharing... I'll check your other webpage.
Hugs,
Betsy
Our house in Manchester is close enough to the interstate that we can hear the music from the front yard. Can't hear it on the porch though... hmmm...guess the hill behind the house blocks it enough to keep it quiet!
Sounds like you had a great time there.
OMG! I can't believe all the bands you got to see! I've seen a few but would loved to have seen Imelda May with Jeff Beck. And Miranda Lambert? She's a West Texas gal. And Blues Traveler? GAH!
