Counting My Blessings

After reflecting yesterday about the past year, I realized that I do indeed have lots to be thankful for.
  • Vol Fan - I have a husband that loves me.  That is faithful.  That is a hard worker.  That would rather spend his evenings with me rather than boozing it with his pals.  That doesn't complain (much!) when I drag him on an adventure.  That is supportive of me.  That is kind.  That is a fine griller of burgers.  That is loved by lots of little old ladies (and everyone knows that little old ladies only love great guys!).  That is loved by lots of little girls (and everyone knows that little girls are excellent judges of character!).  That is willing to chat on the phone with his mother.  That is generous.  That calls when he is going to be late getting home.  He is a pretty good guy and I think I will keep him.
  • Family - I have a family that is there for me.  My Dad even went and pulled weeds at my house:)  They call, text, chat on Facebook.  I love that they keep tabs on me.  AB called to chat yesterday.  I love phone conversations with 3 years olds - something about a pink shirt and playing with mama - I didn't catch it all but it ended with "I love you, Aunt Woody, and I miss you".  That's the best!
  • Friends - I have some of the best friends, the ones in real life and the ones that live in my computer.  They are supportive and encouraging.  They would be by my side in a moments notice.  I always know that they have my back.  And they are always up for a good giggle!
  • Everlasting Gobstoppers - Who wouldn't be thankful for those?

I love, love, love your thankful list here. It made me smile as I read it. I too, love conversations with 3 year olds...so sweet...you are the best auntie ever. Your husband sounds like a keeper and I am pretty sure he feels the same about you. I am thankful that even though this past year has shown some difficulties that you choose to see all the sunshine in your life. Happy weekend dear friend(that lives in my computor :)! XX

I've decided that life is as good as we choose it to be. I happen to think that your life is grand!

We are all blessed, Woody.. You, Suz and ME.... My George is like VolFan and Coach.. They are all 'keepers'...

Yes---we all do have alot to be thankful for. Sometimes we don't express this thanks as much as we should.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

I haven't thought about Everlasting Gobstoppers for about 30 years. But now that you mention it, yes, I am thankful for them, too.

It's always better to choose to be grateful than to choose to wallow in misery. It gives you a much brighter mindset. Thanks for sharing your brighter side!
