Shopping for The Girls

No, not THOSE girls.  Pita and AB, you silly heads (as AB would say)!  When I left for California, I asked the girls what sort of t-shirt they would like as a souvenir.

AB likes 'Doe-wah'.  That's Dora for those that don't speak AB.  So Dora was her choice.  I figured I'm California - surrounded by people that speak Spanish - so surely Dora is popular with the kids.  Right?  Um, apparently not.  I have been here for about 3 months.  I finally found a Dora shirt last week.

Pita has very definite ideas about what she wants to wear.  So she asked for a black short-sleeved shirt with a pink Hello Kitty on the front and a green 'down sleeve' (That's long sleeved for those that don't speak Pita) shirt to go underneath.  Seriously, the girl is specific in her wants!

I figured that I would have to hunt and hunt for that Hello Kitty shirt.  Found it a LONG time ago.  I still haven't found a plain green 'down sleeve' shirt for underneath!  So I got a turquoise one.  Hope it doesn't mess with her fashion plans.....

I have a niece that is nine and her maternal grandmother is Korean...so she's very darkheaded and tan.

She was playing with a younger girl at church the other night (probably 2 1/2 or 3) and my Mom overhead the little girl say "Come on Dora!!"...
