Sandpipers

After the afternoon at El Matador Beach, I headed home and called Vol Fan.  I realized that I was faced with a decision.

Vol Fan was going to have to work late.  I was already sandy.  I was covered with a fine coating of sea salt.  So should I head home, take a shower, and start preparing dinner for a sure-to-be-hungry Vol Fan?

Nah.  I was heading back to the beach!

This time I went to the pier.  I went to scope out a location for the photos that I am planning to take of Vol Fan and myself.  But while there, I could not resist a few shots.2010-10-8 166a2010-10-8 190 And then I spotted a group of sandpipers.  I have always loved sandpipers.  I always imagine them as such fun little birds – running from the waves like a bunch of kids.2010-10-8 1782010-10-8 185 I tried and tried  to get on the side of the group with the good light, instead of just silhouettes.  But every time, they did this.  Darn birds! 2010-10-8 187

I love the silhouette photos, but I also like the sunny side photos, too. Sorry that Vol Fan got a late dinner!
