A Hot Summer Day

On a hot summer day, a perfect place to be is Rutledge Falls.  The water is SO cold but it feels fantastic when the heat is brutal.  One of my favorite memories from childhood is going to this magical place with my Dad.  Thankfully, Pita and AB will have some of the same memories to treasure when they are my age.

Memories of skipping rocks.

Memories of wondering if your feet will EVER get used to how cold that water is.

Memories of being excited about catching a crawdad until you actually have to touch it.  Thanks Poppy for being willing to touch those things!

Memories of looking for treasures under rocks.  The treasure this day was the discovery of a nest of caterpillars.  And a couple taken home to watch the transformation to butterflies.

Memories:)  Have you made any lately?

I just spent a week camping where my feet never got used to the cold creek. It makes me wonder just which memories the kids will hold onto. Beautiful pictures!

Oh yes. I've gone back to T-Town specifically to take my kids to Rutledge Falls. I love seeing them ease into the ice cold water and I had to catch the crawdads. Thank you for sharing and remembering! Hugs!
