A Good Day

Don't you just love those days where everything is right?  A day that you know you will be able to look back on and smile while saying "That was a really good day".  Last Sunday was a day like that.

I have mentioned before that I have a great group of friends.  Several years ago, we started FNSC.  Or Friday Night Supper Club:)  We pick a restaurant to visit each Friday.  If you can come, come.  If you can't, you will be missed.  Nothing formal.  Just a bunch of friends gathering for food and fun.

Last week, we decided to do something a little different.  We packed a picnic, loaded up the jet skis, and spent the day at the lake.  We went to the AEDC recreation area at Woods Reservoir.  It is a great place - convenient to the boat ramp and dock, roped off swimming area with beach, picnic tables in the shade, playground, restroom, volleyball net.

We had a great day (with one exception!  Vol Fan and Maggie still haven't completely recovered!) of eating, playing in the water, eating, riding jet skis, eating, building sand castles, eating, ...  The day was just about perfect.  Sunny.  Warm.  Slight breeze.  A perfect day to bid farewell to summer and welcome fall!
I have so many good memories from my childhood that took place at that very spot.  I think it was a day that each of the kids will carry with them.  It was a good day.

But do you wonder what could have been so tragic that Vol Fan has yet to recover and Maggie may be scarred for life?

It sounds (and looks) like you had an absolutely fantastic time. But I will admit that you have me looking forward to the rest of the story.
