Lucky

I was lucky enough to spend all of last week on Amelia Island with some of my favorite people.  Amelia Island Plantation is undergoing a major renovation and The Boss Man is doing the golf course irrigation at one of the courses.  So once Pita and AB got out of school, they headed to the beach for the summer!  Lucky ducks!

In 2006, Vol Fan and I were lucky enough to be given a job assignment on Amelia Island.  During that perfect summer of 2006, we learned about one of the favored island pastimes.  And we continued it on this visit - combing the beach for sharks teeth.

Amelia Island is covered with miles of bike paths.  So a part of each day was spent pedalling our way around the island.

And seriously, there is something I have learned that everyone needs.  A pair of Keens!  These are absolutely the best water/mud/sand shoes ever.  Mine have been through years of beach trips, lake days, creek wading, and all kinds of mud and muck.  Toss them in the washer and they look good as new!

I have never been to Amelia Island. It looks as if we need to add it to our (very long) list of places to visit.

Love the photo of the keens filled with sweet feet.
I've always wanted to go to Amelia Island. So glad you were able to join the little chicks!

Wow---what a great way to spend the summmer.... Glad you got to visit them.. I know that being on Amelia Island brought back lots of memories for you...

I need to check into some Keens--when we go to the beach... Thanks!!!!!

When I lived in Venice, FL in the '70's, we'd go to the Sarasota area and search for shark's teeth.. At one time we had lots and lots of them. Wonder what happened to them????

Hugs,
Betsy
