Bridal Veil Falls

Vol Fan and I always wanted children but were never able to have any.  For many years, Mother's Day and Father's Day were incredibly painful for us.  Eventually we started to embrace our childless life - the freedom we have to travel, the ability to spoil our nieces and nephews and then send them home, the freedom to keep odd hours, etc.

As we started to embrace this aspect of our lives, we decided to celebrate our own holiday.  So today, we celebrated Happy NotAMother's Day with a hike to Bridal Veil Falls in Sewanee, Tennessee.

The trail is a spur off of the Perimeter Trail which is a 20-mile loop around the University of the South campus.  The hike to the falls is approximately 3 miles round trip.  And is rated as 'moderate' due to the uneven footing over rocks and the elevation change.  But it is well worth the effort to get there.  It is beautiful!

God Bless You both... You certainly are doing the right thing by celebrating each other... AND---you can spoil the dickens out of your nieces and nephews.. That is GOOD...

Hugs,
Betsy

This is one waterfall we haven't visited yet. We're going to have to get there one of these days.

How gorgeous is that view??? VERY.
I love that you are both so adventurous and that you devote so much of your time, love and energy into your nieces and nephew; those kiddos are lucky to have you.
