As you know, I have been going through my Dad's slides from the 1950s and 1960s. He was a pilot in the Navy and took photos to document his travels, his life. He also took photos like this...

Yes, he took photos from his plane.
Did I mention that the plane he was flying while taking these photos was a single seater? Meaning there was no one else to take over the controls while he took photos. Yes, he was flying a jet and using his knees to steer!
And sometimes he would fly close to things to get a better photo and sometimes he would fly too close...

Like Father --like daughter... When I was younger, my brother took me flying in his little Piper Cub airplane. I wanted to learn to fly so much --but never had the money or time to do it... I'm too old now --but that was a dream I never fulfilled..

Flying with his knees???? Well, at least we know he wasn't texting too!!! Lovely photos...yes, you have his adventurous gene and mad skills with the camera!
