damn, Damn, and DAMN!

I visited the doctor yesterday. A checkup for my ankle with my family doctor.

And guess what? I have a sprained ankle. He is brilliant that doctor of mine! But he didn't have any magical healing powers so I could go on my hiking trip to Utah.

And guess what else? I have some kind of allergic reaction causing a beautiful rash on my arms, chest, and stomach. Now to figure out what I have changed that I am allergic to...

And guess what else? My blood pressure was through the fucking roof. Like stroke territory! It was 156 over 107. They took it about 5 times - each time it was in that range!

My doctor was talking stuff like putting me on medication, etc. But I did convince him to look back through my records and see that it has never been that high before. So for now, I have to track my blood pressure for a couple of weeks and then go have a "heart to heart" with him.

I really don't relish the thought of being on blood pressure medication. But I relish the thought of having a massive stroke even less! My mother had a stroke so I have seen the effects of a stroke up close and personal but that is a story for another day.

So I am going back on the diet and resuming my exercise program as soon as this ankle heals. I am also going to have an intervention with my family. They love me and to show that love, they feed me. I am going to need support on all fronts. Poor Vol Fan, he gets to go on the diet, too. But he's not Mr Skinny either!

Thankfully, Judy was able to work her magic on my hair. She gives the best haircuts EVER. Plus my little visit with her got my blood pressure down to 131 over 85!

And my nose really isn't as big as it looks in that top photo. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I'm lovin' your new 'do!! Looks like it will be quick and easy to fix in the morning.

Wait. WHAT? Where did that high blood pressure come from? Have you had any signs of it before now? I know that salt can be a big contributor. Unfortunately, I'm a big fan of salt, as are most southern cooks:(

Your hair looks terrific! Good luck with lowering your blood pressure. And none of those places are going anywhere, so when you're all healed up you'll still be able to go hiking!

You are too cute! Love the hair...

I've been on BP meds for a few years now and it's not so bad... except for the exhorbitant price, even for generic. Mine went from being fine one month to over the top the next month. I just dread getting on cholesterol meds now, lol. Gawd, I hate getting old!

I guess I should just be glad I don't have to take Viagra, lol!

That high BP is a scary thing. Good luck with the diet, hopefully it will bring it down.
