My family (including my Dad, my stepmother, my stepsister, and her daughter, Purple Girl. Purple Girl informed me that she no longer likes purple so she will be called Weezy from now on.) arrived last Monday. On Tuesday, they visited SeaWorld. Wednesday was a rest day by the pool. And on Thursday the real party began...
Thursday morning we rose early to head to Disney World. The weather was good - sunny and 80s. So it looked like it was going to be a good day!
We started by watching a show at Cinderella's Castle and then headed to the rides. I had "It's a Small World" stuck in my head for about 3 days!!
Mamaw, Aunt Mainy, and Weezy were getting on the carousel when Mamaw fell. She has had a couple of back surgeries so a fall is pretty scary. She landed directly on her hip and was unable to put weight on that leg. The Disney staff called the paramedics who checked her out and wanted to send her to the hospital for x-rays. She felt that if she could just rest it for a while that it would work itself out. So they provided her with a wheelchair. We wheeled her around, parked her in the shade, and rode several more rides. Other than the fall, we had a great day!
On Friday, she was still unable to put weight on that leg. So we convinced her to go to the hospital and get an x-ray. Thankfully her hip was not broken, just badly bruised. They fixed her up with some pain meds and they prepared to head to Tennessee.
After the ride to and from the hospital, she decided that she would not be able to sit in the front seat for that long. This posed a problem - if she stretched out in the back, someone would have to ride strapped on the roof of the car. So we decided that Weezy would stay with me. I am planning on heading to Tennessee next weekend so she is ending up with a 2-week Florida vacation. I hope I survive.

The pictures make it look like you had so much fun at Disney World! I hope Mamaw recovers quickly and you have a good time with Weezy.
The pictures look wonderful. I STILL love the magic kingdom. Sorry about her hip...I hope she recovers well. Do you think Weezy had something to do with this??? ya know, just to get a longer vacation???? :)

It sounds like you all had a blast, aside from the fall. The pictures are GREAT! My two favorites: the one of Weezy hugging Donald and second, the family photo with Cinderella's castle in the background.
Hope Mamaw has a speedy recovery! Pain meds are always a plus. ;)

Big Hair - Thanks! Weezy has been having a blast with the waterproof camera. I think she has taken about 300 pics of herself underwater!
Travel Girl - I hope so - we are heading to SeaWorld tomorrow.
MTM - The Cinderella castle one is my fave too!! Yeah, you've got to love pain meds!?!
DandD - Well, she was admiring the selection at the Publix the other day so we may never know.
