And she was giving birth to what she hoped was her last child. She already had a son and Vol Fan's father wanted a daughter. And they were going to name her Tammy.
So she had a "Think Pink" baby shower. Pink clothes, pink blankets. You get the picture.
When the day finally arrived, little Tammy made her appearance.
There was an audible gasp and then silence. Crickets chirping.
Alas, Tammy had some extra parts!
So Tammy's name was changed to Vol Fan. Poor Vol Fan had to wear pink for a long time.
Personally, I'm glad that Vol Fan wasn't a Tammy - I don't think I was cut out to be a lesbian!!

PS - The real Tammy was born a few years later.
