I have long known that I need to do something about my weight. But the conversation with Pita (and the fact that my doctor has now doubled my high blood pressure meds dosage!) cemented that belief.
So yesterday, I joined Weight Watchers Online. After inputting my stats, I was told I could have 23 points worth of food each day. If I exercise, I can have more.
So on Tuesday, I logged my foods. At the end of the day, I was confident that this was doable. I wasn't starving. I even had an ice cream sandwich. Doable.
That confidence lasted one day.
Today, I had to visit the doctor in Franklin which is about an hour away from my home. My appointment was at 1:00 so I had to have lunch on the road. I ate a burger and 1/2 an order of fries from Hardees.
Since it was my birthday, I went out to dinner with Prima Ballerina, Pita, AB, and my friend for ages and ages, Blazer. Blazer made my day really special with balloons and glow sticks - YAY!!
We went to Casa Mexico and, of course, had margaritas!! When I got home, I logged into Weight Watchers to record my food for the day.
Of my 23 point allotment, I've eaten 55.5 points today.
I've had just enough to drink to think this is really funny. Tomorrow, probably not so much!
But right now, I going to go have an ice cream sandwich.....

I can't do points....I am the one that has to eat low carb to loose any weight. It is an eating life style for me, has been for the last 8 years. Sometimes I get over confident and the weight starts going up. Been back on the straight and narrow for 5 weeks and gone down one size. I actually don't get hungry while eating this way. But I also do low carb differently than most people. I eat more fruit and veggies while eating low carb than I normally do. I just know which ones are low carb.
Boy that was a long winded comment. Sorry!

For Gawd sakes it's your birthday! Don't kick yourself, finish celebrating and start again when you get tired of partying.
Happy Birthday....cheers!
Didn't you know? On your birthday you determine your point totals by taking your daily allotment and adding your age. I'm sure I read that somewhere.
Happy Birthday Young Friend of Mine.... Please don't punish yourself for over-eating, especially today...
I have struggled with my weight all of my adult life. I can certainly emphasize with you...
The key is to try to be healthy --eating as healthy as you can and exercising... Weight Watchers is good I think--but the key is to learn to live in your own skin --and be confident with yourself. The more depressed you get about your weight, the harder it will be to lose. It's all about loving yourself enough to want to make a lifestyle change. (NOT EASY to do--but it can be done, if you want it)......
Hang in there... You do have a great life, you know.
Hugs
Betsy
Hi... it's your birthday! Plenty of time to play with points tomorrow!
Besides.... I give myself one evening a week when I can have what I like. Now if I could only rein myself in the other 6 days!
It took me 5 minutes to quit laughing before I could post! I have done WW before and found myself on several occasions saving all my points for spirits.....seriously how pathetic am I??? "I won't eat today because all my points are going towards alcohol"
You fell of the horse. Tomorrow you will get back on. Who doesn't mess up? no one. :0
Um, it was your birthday. Helloooo? Today is a new day.
It's Rick's fault. I told you he made a good drink!
And ice cream is a birthday must!
And just so you know..my beer intertube I carry around my waist is about to explode so I am on to something new today. Will keep you posted. Figured I needed to act fast when Little T mentioned I had a "giggley belly". Stinky little boys!
ps-I messed up my previous post~
maimstor~ my word for today! ha!
Just a reminder that food doesn't have calories on your birthday;)

True story!
It's shocking how many points are in a Margarita!! Today is a new day!
Well for goodness sake.... you don't count points on your birthday! DUH :)
I agree with everyone else--points on your birthday don't count. You'll get back into the saddle before you know it. Hopefully you're getting some nice warm days--getting outside and being far from the kitchen is a big help.
Remember, one day at a time, my friend. Your birthday is special so you can't expect to follow it perfectly or you could and not have any fun...lol. I know you can do this Woody. Believe in yourself. I believe in you. I hope you don't beat yourself up...love yourself, be good to yourself and remember you have a lot of us behind you! Love and hugs, Lori
