I have been really lax in posting lately. But when all you do is sit with your leg propped up, there isn't a whole lot to post about.
Ankle Update
Thankfully, my ankle seems to be healing nicely. I have experienced very little pain. I can tell when I overdo, as things start to swell and the cast gets tight. But as long as I resume my position on the couch, the swelling goes down.
I go tomorrow to get my cast removed. I go into a removable boot next. I just have my fingers crossed that I will be allowed to walk. I will be so thankful to be off of these crutches. They add an extra level of difficulty to any and all tasks.
The next step is physical therapy. I'm thinking it is going to be a LOT of fun. My doctor said it was going to be pretty hard core and he is the king of understatement. So I can only imagine!
House Update
So you know - WAY back on the 23rd of September, Vol Fan and I closed on a new house. We immediately got started on the tasks that needed to be completed before moving in. Well, I say "we" but I mean Vol Fan. Anyway, tasks were completed with one glaring exception.
We have obviously hired the slowest painter in the entire universe!!
His first time estimate was 7 to 10 days. We thought, "Cool! But we'll give him 2 weeks in our plan. Just to be on the safe side."
So plans were made. People were recruited. The move was on.
Until we realized he wasn't finished. Wasn't anywhere near finished.
So his next estimate for completion was for the following Wednesday. We thought, "Cool! But we'll give him the remainder of the week. Just to be on the safe side."
So plans were made. People were recruited. The move was on.
Until we realized he wasn't finished. Wasn't anywhere near finished.
His latest estimate for completion is tomorrow. I have become pessimistic.
But plans have been made. People have been recruited. The move is on for this weekend.
We'll see.

I can hear it in your writing that you are happier and more excited for new things then you have been in a long while!! That makes me really happy.
Physical therapy does not sound like fun...but you are toughie. :)
The painter has some sort of commitment problem. Too bad it is almost done.
Can't wait for you to move in!!!
Wow!! Good luck with everything. I can't wait to hear about the move and see pics!
Thanks for the updates Woody.. I have been thinking about you and your ankle and the move---so it's great to get the update. I hope you get to move this weekend....
