Another Momentary Lapse

Some of you may remember the bank incident from a couple of weeks ago.  Well, let me tell you about my morning.

At work, I received payment from one of our jobs in the mail.  Things have been a little tight around here lately so I was elated to receive this payment.  My plan was to go immediately to the bank to deposit it.  But then I remembered that it was my day to pick up Pita and AB from preschool.  I decided to run by the bank on my way to get them.

While driving toward the preschool, I realized that I needed to stop by the grocery for a couple of things for dinner.  And then I decided to go by to see the progress being made by Vol Fan on the renovation of the house we used to live in.  Then on to get the girls.  Yes, every thought about the bank completely left my head.

Fast forward to this morning.  I decide to go first thing to deposit the check in the bank.  After getting my shoes and jacket on, I went into my office to get the check.  It is not on my desk.

Shuffle.  Shuffle.  Shuffle.

I frantically dig through the papers on my desk in search of the check.  It is nowhere to be found.  I look in every nook and cranny in the house.  Panic starting to settle in.  And then a thought hits me.  It must still be in the car.  You know, since I was going to deposit it on my way to get the girls.  I must have left it in there.

Search. Search.  Search.

It is not in the car.  No where.  Starting to get really panicky now.  And then a thought hits me.  I had a stack of papers in the car that I had planned to take to The Boss Man.  I gave the stack to Prima Ballerina when she picked up the girls.  Surly it had gotten mixed up in that stack.

Speed.  Speed.  Speed.

I run to The Boss Man's house.  I searched through the stack of papers.  Nothing.  Now I have him in a panic too.  So I return to my house to re-search.  It HAS to be there somewhere!  On my way home, a thought hits me.

Um, the reason I don't have the check...um, because I already deposited it.  I completely forgot that a friend had asked me to join her for lunch and I ran by the bank on my way home.

Did I tell The Boss Man?  Yes.  But I didn't include the details.....

HA Woody.... It's called having WAY too much on your mind. BUT--even when I don't have much on my mind, I do crazy things like that. What's MY excuse???? I guess mine is OLD AGE---Senior Moments!!!

Glad you found out what happened.
Hugs,
Betsy

Well I'm glad it's in the bank, but your heart must have been pounding. For me, it would result in a hot flash, but then, most things do.
