After getting settled in the hotel, we were on the hunt for food. As we were driving down the main drag, we noticed a fantastic art deco gas station. It had been restored to all its glory and currently housed the visitor's bureau. Does it look familiar to you? It was the inspiration for Ramone's Body Shop in the Pixar movie, Cars. We were instantly in love with the place!
And to top things off was the presence of this magnificient restored Buick. A crew was there filming a segment for a new TV show about car restoration. The pilot episode was about the restoring of this beautiful car and they were showcasing it at various places along Route 66. Very cool!
Next up - delicious pizza! At Cicero's Green Frog. Strange name but great pizza:) As we were headed back to the car, Giggles exclaimed, "Oh No! What are we going to do? We've come to a fork in the road!!!". Of course, we all looked at her like she had lost her ever loving mind. But she exclaimed again, "No - for real. We've come to a fork in the road!" This time she said it while pointing. When we looked - lo and behold, there was a fork in the road!
We just about busted a gut from the laughter!! We just about fell out when we noticed the name of the convience store that we stopped at on our way back to the hotel:)
After some pool time, we were treated to a beautiful (if angry looking!) Texas sunset.

Wow-- You pick the neatest friends, Woody.... Your gal friend --and her kids seem like the neatest people to hang around. The kids especially seem to be having a great time!!!! Of course, anyone with Woody would have a great time....
Glad you decided where to go when you came to the 'fork in the road'.... ha ha
Looks like a neat place---and what a fabulous sunset...
Drive carefully today.

What fun...I am rather partial to those sunsets myself. I am so happy you are having a wonderous time.

Fork in the road... hahahaha! And that sunset... WOW! Looks like a great trip!
Too funny! So, you're up there in the panhandle area. You always manage to take the coolest trips. I think it's supposed to be good luck to find a fork at the crossroads, right? Can't wait to see your next destination.
