Lancaster Singing Road

Last weekend as Vol Fan and I were leaving the Poppy Festival, we decided to make a little side trip on our way home.  Lancaster, California has another draw other than poppies.  They have a singing road!

The road was initially made as an advertising stunt by Honda Motors several years ago.  They cut grooves (like the grooves on the side of roads to wake you up if you start to drift off of the road) and 'tuned' them to play part of The William Tell Overture.

We drove the road several times at different speeds.  It was SO much fun!

Oh how cool.... I LOVE it... I've never heard of such a thing... It's SUPER... Thanks for sharing...

I can't get over all of the wonderful things I can see on Blogger.... Yesterday I saw the birth of a giraffe and today a singing road... How 'bout that?

Come on Vol Fan....let er rip!!

I used to fly into Lancaster with my uncle all the time and never knew about that road. I'm sure the road might have been there but not the music.

Great post!

I love that road... almost as much as my kids do! They actually had to move it after the original proved to be to popular and drew too many visitors for the area where it was located. As you saw, the area where it is now is pretty low-traffic. Glad you found it! It's not easy to find!
