A Story Of Poppy Hunting

For my birthday, I asked for an afternoon of taking photographs of fields of California poppies.  The poppy season is a bit late this year so they were not blooming on my birthday weekend.  I saw a photograph yesterday on the internets from another fellow poppy photographer.  Fields of beautiful, vibrant poppies!  So I googled the directions and off we went on Saturday morning.

On the way there, we saw this beautiful tree...
And this awesome ride...
And beautiful views of the Santa Ynez valley...
And more cool rides....
And some snow....
We were glad that we saw all of those things because when we arrived at the poppy fields, the poppies were closed up tight!
Tight!  Tight!  Tight!
No show here folks.  Just move along.
So we headed to the Chumash Casino and what should appear but poppies.  Beautiful poppies!
Open and blooming!
Vibrant!
And beautiful!
It was a good thing that we saw all these beautiful things because I dropped $80 in the slot machines in a span of about 7 minutes.

The end.

PS - Just wanted everyone to know that the procedure I had on Friday went well.  Doc says everything is great.  I am SO ready to be a new woman!  Thanks for all the well wishes!!
