The Mixing Bowl Period

Most girls love to sit in front of the mirror and primp.  They love to fix their hair a million different ways.  They love to try different types of make-up and different techniques for application.  They love to paint their nails.

Maybe there is something odd about me.  I do not care to do those things.  I never have.  I'm assuming that I never will.

This is evidenced by my 5th grade school picture.  It is during a segment of my life that I refer to as 'The Mixing Bowl Period'.
Seriously?  Could NO ONE talk me out of this style?  And if not, couldn't they at least introduce me to the curling iron?!?

:) You were still a cutie pie. I had horrid hair for most of my childhood. I still ask my Mom if we were so poor that we could not afford a comb or brush???
Have a great weekend!

Think of the money that was saved! That's like 2 billion in today's dollars...

Love the mixing bowl look! I had a very similar style when I was in the 4th grade. I've been loving looking at all the old photos you've been posting. Your parents were very good looking, especially your pilot father!!

OH ---I love it, Woody!!!!! It's much better than my eldest son's photo --when he wore his curly hair like a huge 'fro.... I can bribe him --when it comes to showing that photo...But--yours is GREAT....

Hugs,
Betsy

I'm pretty sure we all looked like total geeks at that age. I did, for sure.

When I lived in Aspen I didn't even own any makeup. Seriously. Now? I own way too much. It's really overrated...
