Grandaddy's Farm

On Friday evening, we (meaning me, Blazer, Giggles, Oboe, and The Fabulous Man) went to Grandaddy's Farm is in Estill Springs, Tennessee.  It is one of those great fall places with pumpkins and gourds and animals to pet and slides and swings and caramel apples and....

Our first stop was the 'Corn Box'.  Just like a sand box, but with dried corn kernels.  There was a bunch of corn flying in that box.  And when they got out, most had corn kernels is places that ought not have corn kernels.

We bounced on the redneck trampolines - overinflated tractor tire inner tubes.  We solved a maze that was laid out on colored mats.  The rules for the maze - you can only go straight or turn left.  It left us quite dizzy afterward!!  We climbed through the rope obstacle course.  You clip a rope to your belt loop and clip the other end to a rope.  Then you have to work your way through the tangle of ropes to reach the end.

Then our time was called for the hay ride.  That was where our nice little group turned into a bunch of monsters!!

Next we followed this sign that almost led to our permanent disappearance.  We tripped lightly, laughingly into the corn maze.  It took an average of 40 minutes, the brochure had said.  And it had helpful hints placed throughout.  How could we possibly get lost?!
Well, lost we got!  It took us over an hour to get out of that thing.  We ran and jumped and cheered like victorious fools when we finally found the exit!!

Oboe and Giggles convinced us to go down the Hillside Slide a couple of times before we called it a night.  It was a long section of pipe angled down the hillside.  It was SO much fun!  We were all running around like a bunch of 8-year-old kids.  But we finally had to call it a night!  If you ever get a chance to go to this place (or one like it!), GO!  You won't be sorry!
