And Then The Computer Died

I went home last Friday to attend Pita and AB's dance recital.  The plan was to drive home on Friday, attend the recital on Saturday, have lunch with the family on Sunday, and drive back to Georgia on Monday.  Easy peasy.

Everything went as planned until 9pm on Sunday night.

I was burning the Blue Angels slideshow to DVD for my Dad and my computer died.  Like dead as a doornail died.  I went through all the motions that I knew of to try and repair it.  But it was dead, dead, dead.

So a new video card, a new hard drive, a couple of hundred $$, and four days later, I am up and running again.

Thankfully, I had learned the 'back up regularly to an external hard drive' lesson years ago when I lost two years worth of photographs, financial records, and documents.  Trust me you don't want to learn that lesson the hard way.  If you don't already, back up!  Back up!  Back up!

Yes---backing up is SO important... We all will lose our computers from time to time with no warning...

Glad you are 'back up' --but sorry about having to spend the $$$.... Dang!

Hope you have a good week. Loved the pictures from the dance recital..
Hugs,
Betsy

This is great advice. It's too bad about the dollars it cost to fix your computer. but I'm glad you didn't lose anything.
