Saturday Fun

Saturday was a busy busy day.  AB, the social butterfly, had two different birthday parties to attend.  So while I shuttled her from spot to spot, Vol Fan and Pita made preparations for the bonfire and campout that night.  Pita had never put up a tent before but she hammered the stakes like a champ!

As the evening arrived, Vol Fan got the fire started and friends started to arrive.  Even Mawmaw and Poppy came for the fun!  Wieners were roasted.  Marshmallows were toasted.  The kids (big and little) enjoyed a rousing game of hide-and-seek.

Sometimes we just have no explanation of the things that happen :)

Soon enough, it was time for bed.  As Pita and I climbed under our cold cold covers and her teeth began to chatter, she asked if there was a disease we could catch from being too cold.  Haha!  Before long, our body heat had worked its magic and we were toasty warm.  And then AB decided it was time for bed.  So I had to get out of my cocoon and get her settled in her cold cold covers.  Poor Vol Fan came to bed a little later and got the short end of the cover stick!  He ended up back out by the fire :)

Even though the temperature dipped below freezing, we were toasty warm!

Other than the roosters crowing at 4am, it was a perfect night!
