Salsa Festival

One of the great things about the area in which we live is the abundance of things to do.  From the Pirate Festival to the Strawberry Festival to farmers markets to free concerts each Saturday at the marina.  There is ALWAYS something going on.

Last weekend, it was the Oxnard Salsa Festival.  Music, dance, food. What more could you ask for!
The day began with a thick marine layer in place, making the temps cool and the day dreary.  But around lunch as we headed to the festival, the fog began to clear.  And it turned into a glorious day!  Sunny, 70, and not a cloud in the sky!
After meandering thru some of the vendor stalls, we found our way to the salsa tasting tent.  About 20-30 local restaurants had tables set up to sample their salsa!  This selection was from my first round - Yum!
Salsa bands performed on the main stage throughout the day.  In front of the stage was a dance floor that was put to good use - people were dancing their hearts out!
And I won a spoon from this guy at the La Costena booth:)

Glad you two are having a wonderful time while you are out there in CA... You know---there are things to do most everywhere these days if people will just look for them... If people get bored with life, it's their own fault.... You two always make the best out of everything. I LOVE reading your posts!!!!! Thanks..

Hugs,
Betsy
