One evening last week, Vol Fan and I were engaged in our usual evening routine of
sitting on the couch watching the tube while eating dinner intimate candlelit dining when we heard a strange noise. A pop. From the direction of the kitchen.
We got up to investigate. Saw nothing out of place. And assumed it was something outside.
A little while later as we were
sitting on the sofa watching the tube while surfing the net stimulating our minds through reading and intelligent conversation, we heard another pop. This time louder.
It was loud enough that Vol Fan thought it was from outside and stepped onto the balcony to investigate. Nothing.
A little while later, I got up to get
a Little Debbie cake and a soda some raw vegetables and a glass of carrot juice. When I opened the fridge, I discovered the source of the noises.
When a can of Diet Mountain Dew freezes, it explodes!

Oh man, that stinks!! Was your freezer a huge mess afterwards?
Of course it was! A hot can left in the semi will explode too!
I just love life's little unintended science experiments, don't you? I once left an egg in the boiling pan of water too long & it exploded all over the kitchen ceiling & walls. It was fun. Really. I mean it! Or not.
Oh how funny!!!! Somehow---I can't see you two drinking carrot juice and stimulating your minds with intelligent conversation..... I think the 'marked out' words are the REAL ones. Oh My Gosh--why would I think that???? Surely NOT.....
Cute post, Woody.
Hugs,
Betsy
I've had this happen to me too and it scared the crap out of me. :)
Oh, that looks messy!
Oh, and my husband and I have the same high-culture evenings as well....
I hate when my beer does that!
